STANLEY 69-122 6-1/16-Inch Wood Handle Scratch Awl Heat treated, alloy steel blades hold up to repeated use. Chrome plated steel ferrule for added strength. Bright, smooth finish on bar. Plated for corrosion resistance. Machined hardwood handle. The scratch awl is basically a steel spike with its tip sharpened to a fine point. The tip of the spike is drawn across the timber, leaving a shallow groove. It may also be used to mark a point by pressing the tip into the timber.
